For over 62 years, the COS Football Locker Room hadn’t been touched, besides the tiny number of minor improvements and basic upkeeps required by law. Many big names in sports have walked the legendary halls of this locker room. The locker room had seen so many memories. The locker room had always been there for the team rain or shine and was a place of strong reconciliation. About a year ago, Dean of Facilities Byron Woods took the action upon himself to revamp the locker room. His goal was to retain the same location but also create a more modern facility full of precious extremities and luxuries. Woods believed that both the players and coaches deserved a sanctuary that could create a good atmosphere and nurture a growing team bond. After Woods pitched his idea to COS President Brent R. Calvin, the $600,000 investment was provided for this project. The demo and construction of the new facility took 8 months and the COS Football Team is happy to call it their new home. The 100% custom locker room features painted wood lockers, spirited artwork, LED lights, a sound system, and even a coach’s lounge. Look out for the Giant’s first home football game this Saturday at 11am vs San Mateo.
