As a result of the pandemic, many businesses have been struggling to stay open and some have even been forced to shut down. One major industry that was affected was the entertainment industry. Theaters have especially been affected by not only the pandemic, but also the growth of many streaming services. These services allow consumers to watch movies in the comfort of their own homes—with just the click of a button. A major movie chain “Cineworld” has filed for bankruptcy as of September 7, 2022. Cineworld is a massive movie conglomerate. They own companies such as Regal Cinemas and operate in many different countries. If Cineworld is not able to pull itself out of the billions of debt it is currently in, movie theaters around the world may begin to close down. So watch those movies in the theaters while you can!
