An exciting event that everyone is pumped about! Welcome to El Diamante HS Homecoming week 2022!

The Homecoming week just sadly ended, leaving the student body impressed and with lots of fun memories! Let’s go over everything that happened this week and remind ourselves what brought life to our campus.

The theme of the HoCo this time was “The Wizard of OZ”, based on the events of the movie. The concept is amazing and iconic images helped create many ideas that made the week so special, for example, dress-up week. The dress-up week this year was imaginative, leaving people with creative freedom while being simple enough for people to find fitting clothes in their wardrobes. Monday was the day of “Little Miss …”: students had to put on a t-shirt that had the said phrase with the following trait the person might have. That day was also a HoCo Rally in the gym, so ASB prepared an amazing play with beloved characters and announced candidates for the Homecoming Royalty. Not to forget: every day there were lunch activities that students were able to participate in, and on the first day of the week the activity was the game of “Twister”. The Tuesday theme was “Tornado Mix-Match”, along with tossing a water balloon at lunchtime. Wednesday was “Twin day”, although you didn’t have to be twins to participate (just in case). The lunch activity then was the “Relay Race” with bags you had to jump in. For the Thursday dress-up, freshmen and sophomores were dressed as farmers, while juniors and seniors were wearing sparkly or neon costumes. The last day of the event is the most important one. On Friday people wore green, as always, and there was no lunch activity. Instead, the Food Carnival was open! Plenty of various meals, Food Carnival was a blessing for the eat-lovers, people lining up to get a piece of delicious tacos, burritos, burgers, etc. Prior to the carnival was a parade to raise the spirit for the upcoming football game at 7:30 pm that night.

No doubt Homecoming this week was a great start for the year, and we are proudly looking forward to what’s next!
