Smile Movie Review

Just this last Friday on September 30th one of the best movies to release this year titled “Smile” was shown in theaters after almost everyone and their parents saw the trailer either on Youtube or general TV. Now let me tell you this, this movie was downright terrifying even after seeing it with friends. Smile is about Dr. Rose Cotters (played by somewhat popular actor Sosie Bacon) journey after a traumatic experience with a patient at a mental hospital. This disease that her patient had passed on Dr. Rose Cotter and the entire movie is about how this disease is affecting her life and no one can see this thing but her. This “thing” I’m talking about is a supernatural being that haunts Dr. Rose Cotter by making either people she knows or random strangers Smile at her. I won’t dive too deep into the plot but let me tell you this was an experience of a horror movie. The music and the camera shots gave this movie a terrifying psychological feel throughout the film and examples are the upside-down camera shots or the weird soundtrack that would play during important scenes and the weird things that would happen throughout the movie. I am so thankful that I got to see this movie with friends in theaters and I recommend this movie to anyone that likes psychological horror movies.

I would give this movie a 9/10, the ending was questionable but besides that, this was definitely a highlight movie from this year and I would watch this movie again. Also, the whole plot of people smiling is terrifying alone and gives you a weird feeling like you’re being smiled at as well, this movie was great.
