Apple Festival in Springville Lacks Apples

Just this last Saturday, Springville hosted its annual Apple Festival for all to come and enjoy. I had the pleasure of being able to attend this year and witness all that the festival had to offer. There were food stands, arts and crafts for sale, and other unique items to purchase such as handmade soap. However, while at this event, I noticed that something seemed to be missing. Apples.

Throughout the entire festival that spanned across Bridge Street, I had only encountered two stands that were remotely apple themed. Both happened to be food stands: an apple burrito stand and a gourmet caramel apple stand. Besides these two spots, the Apple Festival seemed to be fruitless of its main attraction. The event was still enjoyable but was quite disappointing without the abundance of apple-themed foods and items that were to be expected.

This was also a problem during the Cherry Festival that was hosted in Tulare earlier this year, that event only had one cherry stand in total and no other signs of the small fruit anywhere in sight. These fruit-themed festivals are beginning to lose their charm without the presence of their signature product, all that one can hope for is that they will make more of a comeback next year.
