Ingredients
- 3 eggs, slightly beaten
- 6 tablespoons sugar
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 3 cups milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- Unbaked pie shell
- 1-quart strawberries
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 ½ cups water
- 3 tablespoon cornstarch
Directions
-Set oven for hot, 425F. Combine eggs, sugar, and salt. Add milk slowly, and stir in vanilla.
-Pour into the pie shell. Bake for 40 minutes then chill
-Wash strawberries. Simmer 1 cup of the berries, sugar, and 1 cup of water for 15 minutes.
-Mix remaining water with cornstarch, and add to cooked berries. Cook until thick, stirring constantly then cool
-Add uncooked berries. Spoon over pie then chill.
