“Life is hell for Afghan women.” With laws that prevent them from going to school, to the forceful actions of the Taliban, everyday Afghan women live in fear of being bombed, assaulted, and ruined. The country is now facing one of the world’s biggest humanitarian crises with no help from any outsiders. Many Afghans are facing malnutrition and starvation due to the economy not having cash to pay salaries or buy food. Women are banned from traveling outside their homes without a male with them, and they are also forced to wear hijabs/burqas. The education ban for women was solely based on their gender, and to have more control over them. Because most girls don’t make it to secondary school, they are married off as young as eleven. In addition to the clothing and education laws, they are denied the right to political participation as well as basic social and economic rights. All of these violations of human rights are making the entirety of Afghanistan very dangerous and desperate for help.
