City Lights

City Lights is a comedy/romance film made in 1931. This film was directed by Charlie Chaplin (one of the most famous film directors during the silent film era and also plays the little tramp in City Lights). Being one of the last silent films ever, this film made its debut just as the silent film era was ending. While this is a silent film, it is still hilarious with its physical comedy. This movie’s comedy relies heavily on overexaggerated movements from the characters because there is no dialogue. This creates a unique experience for the audience and one I recommend for everyone to try at least once. Don’t give up on it before you start it; I know you’ll be pleasantly surprised.
