Book Recs for Your Thanksgiving Break

Thanksgiving break is a great time to sit down and have some fun reads! My TBR list is crazy long and I’ve read over 60 books in 2022, so I thought I’d share some of my book recommendations.

  1. The Code For Love and Heartbreak – This book is adorable and it’s super relatable. It’s a modern twist on Jane Austen’s Emma. The female lead, Emma Woodhouse, is a math genius who decides to meddle and matchmake in her classmates’ relationships for a club project. She quickly gets in over her head and starts to see the difference between algorithms and human emotions.
  1. Summer Island – I just got this book and started reading it, but so far I really enjoy it! It follows a heartbroken mother-daughter duo as they embark on a trip to see the family matriarch at the beach. This book is definitely a good read for those who love rom-coms!
  1. Finally, Donovan is Killing It – I adore this book! It’s hilarious and follows a frazzled single mom as she avoids getting tangled up with the Russian mob. There’s comedy, romance, mystery, and plenty of plot twists in this book.
  1. A Cat Cafe Christmas – I’m an avid Hallmark movie fan, especially the Christmas ones, so I bought this book because it reminded me of a Hallmark movie! This book trails two polar opposites as they collide during the Christmas season, and is filled with coffee, cats, and Christmas! Reviews describe it as having big rom-com energy. I have yet to read this book, but my expectations are high!
  1. The Summer of Broken Rules – This book is The Summer I Turned Pretty’s younger cousin! Meredith Fox navigates her cousin’s crazy wedding at the Fox family property on Martha’s Vineyard. Along the way she creates unexpected alliances and rediscovers who she is. I really enjoy this book; it’s a great beach read if you’re spending Thanksgiving by the sea.
  1. A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder Trilogy – TikTok helped this trilogy gain popularity, so at first I was skeptical about the books. Hands down, these books are incredibly hard to put down and you’ll probably finish each book in a day. The main character, Pip, finds her little interest in a local murder mystery turning into a twisted obsession down a dangerous road. Readers will not see the plot twists coming, and mystery fans will LOVE this book!
