At El Diamante High School, we have 40-minute lunches. This simply isn’t enough time for the kids who want to go off campus. Many other schools get longer lunches so why can’t we?
A lot of kids who go off campus are unable to drive so it takes us a lot longer to even get to where we want to eat. By the time we get there, we just have to get our food and immediately leave in order to make it to class on time. This wouldn’t be a huge issue if we could eat during class, but there are a lot of teachers who don’t tolerate food in their classrooms. I just feel like we should get at least an hour for lunch to actually give us time to eat and enjoy our food.
