Christmas Dulce de Leche Bread

Ingredients:

  • 5 cans of 14 ounces of Nestle La Lechera Dulce de Leche 
  • 2 cups of flour
  • ⅓ cup of chopped candied assorted fruits 
  • ⅓ cup of raisins 
  • ¼ cup of chopped almonds
  • 2 ½ cups of butter or one stick of butter
  • ½ teaspoon of grated orange peel 
  • ½ teaspoon of anise seed
  • ¼ teaspoon of ground cloves 
  • ¼ teaspoon of salt 
  • 4 large eggs 
  • ½ cup of evaporated low-fat milk
  • 2 ½ teaspoons of baking powder 
  • One teaspoon of ground cinnamon 

Steps : 

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees 
  2. Combine flour, candied fruits, raisins, nuts, baking powder, cinnamon, orange peel, anise cloves, and salt in a medium bowl set aside 
  3. Beat the dulce de leche and butter in a large mixer bowl until creamy. Add eggs one at a time. Gradually stir in the flour mixture until the milk is blended. Pour batter evenly into prepared cans. Place cans on a medium baking sheet 
  4. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  5. Remove from the oven, let it cool, and dust with powdered sugar if you like.
