Disney has recently changed It’s a Small World boat ride to a walk-through attraction. Personally, I do not like this change. For over 50 years, it has been a boat ride and is one of the rides that makes Disney, Disney. An article posted on The Mouse Trap has claimed that by making it a walk-through attraction, it will reduce many of the dangerous “hazards” that followed the water-based ride. They claimed guests have “lost fingers” and removed the caution of people drowning. But just like every other ride, guests are informed to keep all hands, arms, feet, and legs inside the boat, and the water was very low and not deep. Not only that, but this could increase the chance of irresponsible guests messing with the animatronics on the ride, damaging Disney’s property. I think Disney should have it like this for a short time, then change it back to a water-based attraction.
