My winter break of 2022 was by far the most memorable. While most will typically visit family for the holiday season, we had a special guest stay with us for two and a half weeks. My brother’s girlfriend, Arlen, flew from Texas to spend the holidays together. Originally from Visalia, she joined the Army and was stationed in Texas. During her stay, we spent time as a family to get to know her. A few things we did include participating in a gingerbread decorating contest, watching Avatar: The Way Of Water, bowling night at Tachi Palace, visiting Christmas Tree Lane, hosting a Christmas party, and attending Lahu New Year. These were just a few moments and memories we made together. Meeting her for the first time was nerve-wracking and exciting, but once we got to know each other, we felt comfortable enough to talk and hang out. The day she left was the part I dreaded the most, but I look forward to seeing her again and spending more time getting to know her better.
