Many of us seniors are planning on going to college, have already submitted our applications and may have already received some acceptance letters. While this is a very exciting time, it is important to remember that there are still things that need to be done, such as submitting scholarships. College tuition and housing can be very expensive, especially if you are planning on going out of state or to a UC. Many students do not have parents who are able to financially support their education and will have to pay for it themselves and pull out student loans. It is important to apply for as many scholarships as you can because even if it is only for a couple hundred dollars, that money could still go towards something like textbooks that are required for certain classes. On our El Diamante website, students can find a slide show that consists of many different scholarship opportunities. It is important to check the requirements for each before filling out the application because some are meant for specific groups of people. It would be a waste of time to complete an application for a scholarship that you have no chance of receiving. I will provide a link below for the informative slides on different scholarships that are available. Make sure to check the deadlines for each you are interested in and take advantage of these great opportunities!
