Makeup Review: Euphoric Sun

Euphoric Sun is a small, Asian-owned, and Asian-inspired beauty business that sells its products online. As an avid makeup lover, I always enjoy purchasing makeup items from small businesses since they can be so incredibly underappreciated. So recently, I decided to purchase a few products from Euphoric Sun to see how well they really hold up compared to bigger makeup companies.

Chinese Opera Water-Activated Eyeliner Palette in shade Pastel ($20)

Pros:

  • Easy to use
  • Cute colors
  • Wears all-day
  • Easy to take off

Cons:

  • A bit pricey (but still cheaper than some other makeup brands!)
  • Hard to open a case
  • Must buy brushes separately

My Rating: 8/10

This is a very cute palette that I can see myself purchasing again, even though I’m not one to wear bright colors daily. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking to begin experimenting with color in their makeup because of how beginner-friendly it is. It’s very easy to apply and build color, and easy to take it off in case you made a mistake!

Royal Cream Blush in shade Gongju ($10)

Pros:

  • Very pigmented
  • Easy to apply
  • Buildable coverage
  • Cute packaging

Cons:

  • Can easily accidentally apply too much due to how pigmented it is

My Rating: 9/10

It’s rare for the problem with a makeup product to be that it has too much pigment, but that happens to be my only problem with this blush. It is very easy to overdo it with this product, so make sure to go at it with a light hand to get the perfect amount of blush on without looking like a tomato. Other than that, I absolutely adore this product. This product feels very lightweight on the skin, which I enjoy immensely as someone who hates feeling their makeup all day. The packaging is also to die for, I love having a cute container that has genuinely good products inside of it. I am definitely going to buy this product again and would love to try out the different shades as well.

Mooncake Festival Eyeshadow Palette ($19)

Pros:

  • Cute packaging
  • Good pigment
  • Comes with a mirror inside

Cons:

  • Glitters don’t stay put
  • The texture of the glitters is unpleasant

My Rating: 6/10

This was my most disappointing purchase from Euphoric Sun. While I liked the first 4 eyeshadows on top, the two glitters at the bottom were very disappointing. When I touched them, they felt almost like glitter mixed with vaseline, and they did not stick to my eyelid very well. Fortunately, that meant it was easier to take off of my face, but unfortunately it also meant the glitter easily got in my eyes. I would not buy this palette again, as I believe I could easily find dupes for the first 4 shades elsewhere without having to purchase the 2 slots of glitter goop that I am never going to use.

Euphoric Sun (as a whole)

Pros:

  • Cute aesthetic
  • Good quality products
  • Supports a small business
  • Vegan (cannot confirm for all products)
  • Non-paraben (cannot confirm for all products)
  • Gluten-free (cannot confirm for all products)
  • Cruelty-free (cannot confirm for all products)
  • Every package includes additional stickers/gifts inside

Cons:

  • Does not list if every product is vegan, non-paraben, gluten-free, and cruelty-free or not
  • Long shipping time
  • Does not provide refunds for products

Overall, I would rate Euphoric Sun an 8/10. I thoroughly enjoyed the aesthetics of the shop itself and found that for the most part, the products were actually of very good quality. However, I think it could do a better job at explicitly stating its products whether they are vegan, non-paraben, gluten-free, and cruelty-free or not. On some products, it says this, but not all of them do, making it unclear as to whether or not the whole shop is these things or not. Still, I appreciate the extra stickers and other goodies I have received and would recommend that anyone who enjoys makeup at least gives them a glance!
