Tomorrow, February 18th will mark the start of National FFA Week. Our FFA chapter here at El Diamante works hard in all they do, and it is important that we show them our support. The students in the FFA program are a vital part of our campus community and are the future of the agricultural industry and it is important we make that known.
National FFA Week always runs from Saturday to Saturday and encompasses Feb. 22, George Washington’s birthday. This week kicks off on Feb. 18 and culminates on Saturday, Feb. 25.
The National FFA Board of Directors designated the weeklong tradition, which began in 1948, recognizing Washington’s legacy as an agriculturist and farmer. A group of young farmers founded FFA in 1928, and the organization has been influencing generations that agriculture is more than planting and harvesting — it involves science, business, and more.
The National FFA Organization is a school-based national youth leadership development organization of more than 850,000
student members as part of 8,995 local FFA chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
The value that Agricultural Education has and continues to have on the lives of past and present agriculturalists cannot be
understated. The experience and education provided by this organization is especially pertinent to our home, the San Joaquin Valley, where agriculture is at the heart of how we live. For this reason, the El Diamante chapter will spend the week
of the 18th celebrating agricultural education through various activities and events, including dress-up days, community service activities, and fellowship with other local chapters.
Please join the El Diamante FFA Chapter, as well as chapters from across America in celebrating the important work of
making a positive difference in the lives of the next generation of agriculturalists by developing their potential for personal
growth, premier leadership, and career success. Your continuing support for this important mission is sincerely appreciated.
Happy FFA week!
