There has been construction work being done on the south side of the mall that has lasted months. The construction is to prepare for the opening of Nordstrom Rack and Sprouts Farmers Market, as well as Barnes and Noble.
The closures of businesses inside the mall have caused frustration and anger. There has been one incident of an employee of a restaurant throwing items inside the mall, as well as someone taking a knife to the theater screens of the cinema inside. Visalia Police have yet to issue a statement on either incident
“The future of the Sequoia Mall is bright,” Paynter Realty and Investments President David Paynter said. “It will re-open but for now… the time has come to close the doors so that new doors can be opened in the future”
