The other day students in AP Environmental Science (APES) dissected bolus. If you’re anything like me you’re probably wondering, what is bolus? Bolus is a bird’s throw-up! After Albatross birds are ready to leave the nest, they regurgitate all the food items their stomach was unable to digest. This dissection taught me that animals are really dumb and humans produce a lot of plastic. We found a bottle cap, plastic fragments, and a ton of squid beaks ( since that is their primary source of food ). Oh and the kicker was finding a pretty good size rock in ours, and considering that this is a bird that is a little scary. It was definitely fun to watch, but I’m glad I didn’t touch it
