Floridian deathcore outfit Bodysnatcher just released a new music video for the standalone track “Dead Rabbit,” a song written to pay tribute to drummer Chris Whited’s late brother and former bandmate Adam.

The drummer said it was his brother that got him into hardcore music and inspired him to pick up an instrument. The two eventually played in a band called King Conquer together which eventually grew a following in the scene throughout the South Florida area.

Sadly, Adam was diagnosed with “a severe case of Multiple Sclerosis when he was only sixteen years old,” Chris Whited said. Rather than go down without a fight, Chris said his brother continued to play music and tour despite the pain and other debilitating symptoms like “loss of sight, numbness of limbs, and brain lesions until he couldn’t do it anymore.”

Chris said Bodysnatcher had initially planned to have Adam write the lyrics for their next album, with the theme being about his struggles with MS and written from his point of view. The lyrics for “Dead Rabbit,” then focused heavily on Adam’s experience.

Despite his loss, the band’s plans to hit the road on a headlining tour with AngelMaker, Paleface, and Distant are still set to go. The first leg of the tour will start on March 1 in West Palm, Florida, and come to an end in Worcester, Massachusetts on March 29.

A second leg of the tour will start up right after with Lorna Shore, Shadow of Intent, Brand of Sacrifice, and Boundaries from March 30 in Albany, New York, and ending on April 16 in Seattle, Washington. The final leg will have the same bands except for Lorna Shore and will run from April 17 in Portland, Oregon to April 26 in Millvale, Pennsylvania.
