On the third day of Spring Break, I visited Pismo Beach with my boyfriend’s family. The drive was about 2 ½ hours, so it wasn’t too bad. Before we got there, we visited Ventana Grill to eat lunch. I ended up ordering Quesabirria tacos, and they did not disappoint. After we ate, we drove a little and finally arrived at Pismo Beach. I took a walk on the pier, despite how windy it was. I did not regret it once I saw how pretty the view was. Even though it was a little chilly, I got Cowboy Cookie and Ice Cream right by the beach. I got Cookies N’ Cream flavored ice cream on top of a chocolate chip bowl-shaped cookie. We then looked for something fun to do and chose bowling. Unfortunately, the wait was too long, so we played arcade games instead. It didn’t take much time for us to get hungry, so we decided on pizza. The place we went to was called Palo Mesa Wood Fired, located in Arroyo Grande. The two pizzas we tried were Magherita and Maiala. I enjoyed the Maiala one more because it wasn’t as sweet as the Margherita. Once we ate, we drove home.
One week into Spring Break, I took a trip to Yosemite National Park with my boyfriend’s family, again to enjoy nature and the sight of some snow. There, we drove around and looked for places to take some pictures. When we finished that, we headed to Wawona where we saw Yosemite History Center and a few other buildings. After viewing the place for a while, we were hungry and drove to get food at Degnan’s kitchen. We ate our sandwiches and then left to find some waterfalls. Although we saw many of them from a distance, we wanted to walk to one on a trail. The one we decided on was Lower Yosemite Falls. I managed to capture a good picture of it even with all the people surrounding me. I would definitely go another time to see it again. After soaking the scenery in for some time, we decided it was time to head home. Of course, we had to get dinner on the way back from Smokehouse 41 BBQ. I got the Pulled-Pork Sandwich while everyone else got the two meat plates. We all enjoyed our food and then hit the road back home.
Lastly, I celebrated Easter on Sunday with my family. We got to devour some good BBQ and a few of our favorite cultural foods. Like every year, we do an egg hunt for the kids. My job was to put the candy and money in the eggs and then hide them in the yard. Once the egg hunt was over, I saw pure happiness on the kids’ faces when they opened their eggs to see what they got. We ended the day together just hanging out and talking in the living room.
