In Oakland, California, a 15- month- old girl was shot in the stomach by a stray bullet that hit her family vehicle in. She went into surgery and is in stable condition. The family was driving home Monday through Oakland, where many shootings had occurred, they stated they heard a barrage of gunfire as they approached an intersection. When the gunshot occurred the child began to cry, the father got out of the car and went to the rear passenger seat to check and see her. However, at this very sad moment the father didn’t realize she was shot, he thought she was just crying from the gunfire, not knowing the actual baby was shot. The father believed that the victims weren’t the intended targets; they were just caught in the middle of the crossfire. There has also been a previous shooting of a woman and her 13-year-old daughter on Saturday night and a third person was wounded. Firearms are being used so frequently, pulling the trigger, not caring about where the bullet may occur, and causing a lot of people to fear for their own lives!
