Between the Lines – The Met Gala

On the first Monday of May movie stars, models, designers, and musicians all gather to attend the world’s most exclusive social and fashion event: The Met Gala. Initially founded as a charity event to raise funds for the then-newly founded costume institute in 1948.

Today it still stands as the biggest event in the fashion world. But instead of the idea of wearing expensive gowns and dressing in black tie for the event it has since become a almost costume event. With celebs like the Kardashians, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, and Gigi Hadid the Met is an opportunity to let their wild side free and express themselves through their looks.

I could discuss this year’s met gala however in my option the 2018 Heavenly Bodies theme has some of the most iconic and best designs I’ve ever seen from the Met Gala.

Two of my favorite looks Include…

Zendaya

In Atelier Versace, Tiffany & Co. jewelry, and Jimmy Choo shoes. Like Blake Lively Zenday has never missed a beat when it comes to fashion and the Met is no exception.  Zendaya takes the heavenly bodies theme and expands on it to include a French Renaissance knighting feel. I definitely believe this is one of her best Met Gala looks.

Blake Lively

Wearing a gorgeous dress by Versace, Lively has never disappointed at the Met Gala. Year and year again sticking to the theme and going all out.
