The El Diamante E-Sports team is coming off of a very successful season winning state and competing with the best teams in the country, One of these said places being a team located in Alaska. The team had a spectacular stretch going undefeated in the regular season then dominating multiple tournaments including the Spring 2023 Play VS California Region Championship. They competed against over 135 teams and came out victorious becoming state champions.
The El D team was not finished though; they finished another successful tournament and they became two-time state champ winners of the CIF Super Smash Bros state tournament.
Now that we all know about the team’s success we can now all take a deeper look into the team and hear from the coach and players on their performance, goals, and expectations for this upcoming season. We asked Coach Marquez some questions and this is what he had to say about his team.
“This team is great, I love being able to coach theses kids and see them grow as players” – Coach Marquez. “I predict that we will go far this season, the team has put in lots of long hours to get better at their craft. E-Sports at El Diamante will soon be national champions”. – Coach Marquez.
We are all excited to see our very own state champions compete again and see what they will do in this upcoming season.
